This conclusion is based on research by Dr. James Kalus (Henry Ford Hospital). This is a study presented at the Scientific Conference of the American Heart Association this week.
The researchers asked 15 volunteers mature, healthy (including 8 men and 7 women, average age 26) to stop using caffeine from different sources before and two days during the study.
On the first, the volunteers measured blood pressure, heart rate and electrocardiogram. In the next day, after drinking two cans of energy drinks (containing 80miligram caffeine and 1,000 milligrams of taurine – an amino acid increases blood pressure and heart rate). Until Saturday, the researchers began to repeat the work of the first day.
Results comparing the average first day and on Saturday with the highest level of five on the show: Within four hours after drinking energy drinks, the maximum pressure when the heart beats increased 7.9% compared to day first and 9.6% compared to Saturday.
Energy drinks containing sugar, salt, caffeine and taurine to help awake but not good for people with heart disease.
